Project Description

Full house refurbishment in Wimbledon

Like many London properties, the home at Crescent Road, Wimbledon, had undergone many extensions and alterations over the past decade.

The layout and function of the house had become disjointed and the family only used a small area on a daily basis while other rooms were not used at all.

The design principle of this full-house refurbishment in Wimbledon was to create a modern family home that responded to the growing and changing needs of the parents and children as they got older. This meant bringing all rooms and spaces into play and maximising the potential living space.

Day-to-day living is set at the back of the house responding to the landscaped garden, while the front reception rooms have been changed to a formal space and a playroom that will change over time to suit growing children.

Above ground, all the bedrooms were reconfigured and a first floor extension created a fantastic master bedroom suite with dressing room area and en-suite bathroom. The roof was fully rebuilt creating a further two bedrooms and a bathroom.

The completed project has changed the way the family use the house, giving them a coherent space that gels together, allowing for future adaptions to suit their changing needs.
