In Barnes, we have two teams simultaneously working on a full-house refurbishment, including a basement conversion, rear extension and internal reconfiguration.

At present, we are making excellent progress on the basement conversion, which will cover nearly 70% of the house’s footprint and we’re pleased to say that we are very much on schedule.

The underpinning is complete, we are busy forming the concrete lightwell and nearly half of the ground floor steel work, which will support the weight of the house, has been inserted.

The team of basement experts are removing the mass of soil from the centre of the basement, which is a considerable task as we have dug 3.5 metres below ground.

Within the next six weeks we would expect to have a fully-formed structure in place and then start fitting it out. At that stage it will all become very exciting for the client, who we already meet with every couple of weeks to discuss progress.

Upstairs, a team have carried out some structural work and demolition on the top two floors. A walk-in wardrobe has been added to the master bedrom and we have replaced a staircase that wasn’t safe. It is shaping up to be a really lovely family home.
